Clinical Laboratory Science/Medical Technology Applicants

The School of Medical Laboratory Science presently maintains an academic affiliation agreement with Michigan Technological University. Students from this affiliate, once accepted into the Clinical Program, complete the year on a 3 + 1 status and receive their baccalaureate degree at the conclusion of the internship. However, the School does accept and consider applications from 3 + 1 status students from non-affiliate universities and colleges. Those who already hold a baccalaureate degree in clinical laboratory sciences/medical technology (4 + 1 status) apply for a fifth year of study.

Biological Science or Chemistry Major Career Option

Graduates with a baccalaureate degree in a biological science or chemistry technology (4 + 1 status) may also apply to the School of Medical Laboratory Science for the fifth year of study. The Clinical Program provides an exciting opportunity to study in a hands-on environment that allows them to advance their skills with our cutting edge technology. A career in the clinical laboratory sciences gives biological science or chemistry graduates mobility in the job market while allowing them to continue their education in graduate or professional studies if so desired.
